WILTON, Iowa — Mildred M. Taube, 88, Wilton, died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at Carrington Place in Muscatine.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2009, at the Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. Serving as casket bearers will be Jim Taube, Kerry Taube, Ian Taube, Isaac Taube, Greg Taube and Corey McKillip. Interment will take place at the Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Wilton Public Library in her memory.

Mildred was born on February 8, 1921, the daughter of Walter and Sarah Skinner Hollatz in Geneseo, Illinois. She married Alfred E. Taube on August 16, 1942, in Geneseo. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1997.

She worked for CDS in Wilton, for 20 years. She and Alfred owned and operated the Taube Clover Farm Grocery Store in Wilton, for many years.

Mildred was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed all sports. She and Alfred enjoyed playing bridge and she enjoyed crossword puzzles. She was a member of the Wilton BPW.

She is survived and lovingly remembered by her sons, Ronald Taube and wife, Elizabeth, of St. Louis, Missouri, James Taube and wife, Nancy, of Muscatine, and Kerry Taube and wife, Laura DeBella, of Trinidad, Colorado; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Thank you for posting this obit. I have added it to my family tree on this site. Mildred was the wife of my first cousin once removed (Alfred Taube).
