There was a Tasse family from Canada that arrived in Milwaukee, Wis. USA in the 1840s.
A 106 year old Mrs. Margaret Tasse died in Milwaukee. There is a nice obituary written up in the local German language press to honor her, but it doesn't so much honor today's genealogist with a total focus on data.
The obit. references her son F. D. Tasse, and mentions her husband wouldn't be able to attend the funeral as he was institutionalized in Menasha, WI (USA). A general narration of the family history is included, noting arriving from Canada in the 1840s, but not the province.
(I'm not a relative and don't own these newspapers or the clipping.)
