Bob:
I am sending via snail mail to your NJ address a four page Tafel diagram of the Taschler family as I know them in Western Penna. If you can place them on a common family tree I would be pleased to learn of it.
It is quite likely they are related back in Austria-Hungary. Taschler, as you know, means "purse maker' in German and John Taschler became a shoemaker on the South Side of Pittsburgh when he settled there.
Good luck, let me know if I can be of any
further help...and do let me know if we
share a common ancestry.

GreatGrandmother Maria and GreatGrandfather John Taschler were born in 1871 and 1875 respectively. Emigrated from Austria-Hungary circa 1905 and raised a family on the south side of Pittsburgh where he was a shoemaker. I have asked in the family whether they knew of a Giezela and no one had. However all their children (our grandfathers, etc.) are dead now. Since John and Maria were older they could have served to help bring Giezela to the US if she emigrated later than 1905. Do you know the name of the town in Austria-Hungary from which Giezela emigrated? Wish I could be more help.
