YOUNGSTOWN - A funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. John E. “Snuffy” Tarver Jr. will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the J.E. Washington Funeral Home.

Mr. Tarver departed this life Nov. 29, 2014, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Mr. Tarver was born July 9, 1964, in Youngstown, Ohio (Mahoning County) a son of John E. Tarver and Dorothy N. Moore.
He was a 1984 graduate of South High School and worked as a cook with various restaurants throughout the city.
He was a member of the Final Call to Islam Church, Youngstown, Ohio.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving sister, Kysonia Tarver of Youngstown; his brothers, Theodore Tarver of Boardman and Victor (Tigist Tsige Abebe)Tarver of Kuwait; his nieces, Yohana Tigist Tarver of Kuwait, and Laquaya Sutton, Lakesha Greer, Airiel and Lesia Tarver, Sherese and Sherrelle Jones, all of Youngstown; his nephews, Marlon and Jermaine Tarver of Youngstown, Aaron Jones, Devan, Antwone and Ethan Tarver of Austin, Texas, and Victor Tarver Jr. of Kuwait; and a host of other relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Kysandra Unigwe and Iris Tarver; and his brothers, John A. Gregory and Bridgette Tarver.
The family will receive friends Friday one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
