Tardiff, Clifford D. Long time resident of Winthrop, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 25, 2015 after a lengthy illness at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center in Brighton, MA., at the age of 80. Clifford was born on October 30, 1934 where he was raised and educated in the town of Winthrop graduating from Winthrop High School. In his youth, Clifford was an exceptional athlete as a runner and football player. He loved the world of competitive sports. Clifford was the son of the late Delphis E. Tardiff and Edna (George) Tardiff. He is survived by his compassionate and dedicated daughter Leslie E. Gray and her husband Robert D. Gray, of Bristol, NH, daughter Lisa Jane Rushford and her husband Scott Alan Rushford, of Naples, Florida, and their mother Maggie Allen, of North Andover, MA. Clifford was pre-deceased by his only son, the late Clifford Delphis Tardiff, Jr. Clifford is also survived by three grandchildren, Jason Gray and his wife Meagan Gray, of Gardner MA, Jessica Greenlaw and her husband Justin Greenlaw, of Moultonborough, NH, and Laura Eileen Rushford, of Boston, MA and by four great-grandchildren, Noah, Asher, and Hannah Gray, and Dustin Greenlaw. Clifford is also survived by his devoted cousin, Henry Irving Furlong Sr. Relatives and friends will gather in honor of Clifford's life during visiting hours from 10am to 12 noon at the Ernest P. Caggiano and Son-O'Maley Funeral Home, 147 Winthrop Street, WINTHROP, MA on Monday, February 2, 2015. Private family Interment service to follow at the Belle Isle Section of Winthrop Cemetery.
