I'll have to add myself to the list here, I think. :) Kind of sad that this is such an old thread - I hope people are still seeing it!

I'm the oldest daughter of Maurice August Taquino of New Orleans, Louisiana - Thomas Taquino's brother. :D I'm actually trying to find information on my grandfather, Morris Lewis Taquino. Census records list him as the elder Thomas Taquino's nephew, but I haven't yet found direct reference to his parents' names.

Not sure if you are still on this thread. I'm writing about your grandfather - Albert Joseph Taquino who died in 1974. He was the son of Mary Francis and George Taquino. If this is the correct Taquino, please write back. I believe his mother, Mary Francis was one of our ancestors.

Hi! Yes, that would be my grandfather...well, at least as far as knowing that he died in June 1974. I've had some contact with a few Taquinos on Facebook and there seems to have been two Alberts. though the one that isn't my grandfather was born in 1913 and died early (I think in his 20s). Right now, I've signed up for the free trial on this and am searching everywhere for info. All I've been able to find that absolutely confirms him is a record of the 1940 census that shows his name, my grandmother and their kids (my father, aunt and uncle). Still searching though...and I think your help with George and Mary Francis will go a long ways in finding out more. Thanks! If you want, look me up on Facebook or e-mail me at mikeyt62@yahoo.com.

Hello! I know I'm just jumping in a bit, but I've not really used the forum system on here quite so much before. I just know I was glad to see people still posting in a thread for this name! I'm at a near-standstill in my research on my grandfather, Morris Louis Taquino. I know he was married twice, and I'm a granddaughter via the second marriage to Rose Pareti. Catch is, the 1910 census lists him as a (married - first wife) nephew in Thomas Taquino's home. I haven't been able to dig up a birth certificate for him, and I'm still waiting on a death certificate to arrive (which I'm hoping will have his parents' names listed somewhere, as it's the best I seem to be able to get). If any of you have any information on him, I'd love to know, and would absolutely love to help out with what all info I've gathered along the way if you need it :) - Laura Taquino midien@gmail.com
