Toussaint Tapin, born 1615, St Nicolas De Poire Sur,Maillezaise,Poitou,France. Married Marie Gendron in Le poire-sur-Velluire, Saint-Nicolas, France. Had son, Antoine Tapin, born 3 Feb 1712, Portneuf, , Quebec, Canada. The lineage continues to Louis Joseph Tapin (who went by Tappa in the U.S.), born 3 Feb 1712, Portneuf, , Quebec, Canada. Immigrated to the U.S. bef. 1870. Evidence of the Tapin name seems to end in Canada with Louis Joseph Tapin. There were other males to carry on the name in Canada, but there doesn't seem to be evidence of such. What happened to the Tapin name in Canada?
