Saw your message. I don't know if I have a connection. May GGM was Appalonia Taphorn, and married Henry Endres. I know she was born in Germany, but I don't know where. Her birth year was around 1841. She and Henry married and moved to the U.S. and had six children. Please let me know if you see any connection to Appalonia. Thanks.

I am likely related to Velma. My great greatgrandfather was Clemence Taphorn. He was born Dec. 6 1826 and came over on the Freidrich Leo out of Bremen, Germany on 12/2/1845. His father was Herm Hinrich Jacob Taphorn (born October 4, 1785). I have several records of a Johan Hinrich Taphorn.

I had prev. posted a message, but since then I have been to Dinklage & have found more info. Johann & Anna had 11 children. Some had died prior to coming to US. I have info on the 3 male children. The females that came to US were: Margaretha b 1829; Anna Maria born 1833; Anna Catharina b. 1834; Elizabeth born 1840; Mary born 1851 and Minnie born 1852. I have info on Minnie. I
believe Mary might have gone to St.Louis,Mo.
please see my URL:

click on Taphorn tree & then genealogy to see info on 3 sons that came. I am interested in learning who the females m. &
when & children, etc. I would be glad to ex-
change info.

I have been trying to find my grandfather's heritage. His name was Herman Tappehorn of St. Elizabeth, MO. I come to road blocks. I have discovered that the name may have been changed and when I saw that your relatives may have settled in the St. Louis area it sparked this inquiry. I would appreciate any info you might like to share. Thanks
