Anthony J. Taormina, 90, passed away at Traditions at Bath Road on April 7, 2011.

He was born in Akron, Ohio, (Summit County) on February 21, 1921. He was a well-known professional musician who played the drums in many groups, most recently for the Gene Fiocca Band.
He was also a hairdresser for the Glamour Nook in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Tony was a disabled World War II veteran and was a life-long member of the DAV.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Leona (Peggy); parents, Frank and Clorinda Taormina; brothers, Sam and Joe; and granddaughter, Angela.

He leaves behind his daughter, Sandy Filomena; son, Tom (Sue) Taormina; grandsons, Mike (Carol) Filomena of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Chris (Jen) Filomena; granddaughters, Pam (Todd) Testa, Heather (Brian) Nehlsen, and Jill Taormina (Shannon); great-grandchildren, Anthony and Dominic Testa, Madeline and Angela Taormina, Cameron Keller, Haley and Hunter Nehlsen, Alexander and Julianna Filomena, and Chase Filomena; and brother, John Taormina of Huntsville, Alabama.

There will be no calling hours, and private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial at Holy Cross cemetery in Akron, OH.
