Frances Delores Bucci
ZANESVILLE: Frances Delores Bucci, better known as "Mama Bucci", died June 13, 2014.
She was born February 3, 1922, to Vito and Cecilia "Matilda" (Reinholtz) Taormina in Youngstown, Ohio. (Mahoning County)
Frances' siblings, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and their spouses are: Lucille and Frank Deramo, Antonettte and Richard Ellashek, Rosemarie and Pete Pernotto, Eleanor DiLullo, Josephine Merlock, Barbara and Charles Scimeca, Joseph and Janet Taormina, Jack and Lu Bucci, Jimmy and Martha Bucci, Arco and Jeri Bucci, and Ann and Larry Keen.
Frances married Lawrence Bucci on April 22, 1939, in Schenectady, New York.
They lived in Youngstown, Ohio until moving to Zanesville, Ohio in 1947 to start the Squirt Bottling Company and The Sun Spot Bottling Company on Central Ave.
She and her husband were members of the the Enrico Fermi Lodge "Sons of Italy" at 375 Muskingum Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio, which later became Bucci's Italian Village, then Mama Bucci's Pizzeria. Frances was well known as a great Italian cook.
Her first job was working at Adornetto's Pizzeria.
She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.
Frances and Lawrence had seven children: Larry (Francine Marple) of Florida, Ron (Mary Ann Boyd), Charlene, and Robert (Darlene Eppley) of Zanesville, Anthony of Las Vegas, Richard of Columbus, Ohio and Tyrone (deceased); 15 grandchildren: and 19 great grandchildren
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; son, Tyrone Bucci and granddaughter, Ronna Bucci.
Visitation will be held Thursday June 19 from 2pm to 8pm at the Bryan & Sndier Funeral home, 2318 Maple Ave, Zanesville, OH.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Friday June 20th at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
Burial will follow in the Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
