I have reason to believe the John Stocks and Tamar Taylor of Crich are the parents of Ann Stock who married John Thorpe in Crich, because of the use of the unusual name in the family line, Tamar and also because John Stocks acted as witness to the marriage bann of Ann Stocks in 1812 Crich.
I am having trouble confirming her birth date and her father's name.

There are several Tamars in the family, the Tamar Thorpe I referred to had a daughter named Tamar Coupe who married James Hays. Also Tamar Thorpe had a child named Alexander Thorpe who was born out of wedlock he named one of his daughters Tamar also. I'm sure there are others. It would be interesting to research your aunt's family and see if there is some connection. The first Tamar I can find in my family was Tamar Lockhall who married Samuel Taylor from Carsington. I'm not sure where she was from. Most of them are from the Tibshelf and Crich area.

Thanks for your reply. My grandmother was from Crich her father was Daniel Foulds and her Mother was a Storer. At the L.D.S. library I found the name Tamar Foulds christened 1855 South Wingfield not sure if there is a connetion to my family but is possible. Here my name is very uncommon and I am always having to explain the origin.Always wished I was just plain Mary. I can't find any connection with the names that you have mentioned.

That's weird, there are Storers on the Coupe line, but they are distantly related so I don't know much about them. Francis and Tamar Coupe had a son Henry who married Charlotte Storer from Swanwick. I don't have any Foulds, but it is still interesting, Tamar as you know is the name of a river, but I can't recall where it is in England.
