Thanks for replying again. I don't think Bob would want to contact me anymore because I never found out anymore info. I also had a Uncle Joe Tamagni, but he owned a hotel, I believe, in Philadelphia, Pa.I never did get to meet him. My Uncle John Tamgni settled in Fortuna, Ca.He may have lived in Petaluma at some time also. Since we never kept in contact with his 2 living daughters, I have been hesitant to call them. Their brother Eddie Tamagni died a few years ago. When I did call the oldest daughter, Lillie, when her brother-in-law died, she didn't sound to happy to hear from me after all this time. That is why I am such a coward to call her now. Sincerely, Jean

Dear Jean, Thanks for writing. I doubt if Bob would mind if you wanted to ask some questions. He is both very informative and helpful where genealogy is concerned. Do you by any chance know where in Switzerland that your family came from? Our side came from St. Antonio, and we still have many family members living there. If you would be interested, I can give you the e-mail address of one of my cousins (2nd or 3rd) and he may be able to give you the names of some of your relation, but if you are of the Sarina family, I know that we have to be related somehow. Let me know if you would care to correspond with him as I am more then happy to help you in any way that I can. Have you ever heard of any of your family being related to the Buletti family?

Hi Rick,
I believe my father came from Guibiasco, (sp)? Co. Ticino. I know his dad was a bridge builder, and he died young. My father came to this country when he was about 18. He was born Aug. 28, 1902. I told Bob where my father and his cousins settled and now I can't remember the towns name where a lot of Swiss settled. I believe it was near Petaluma, in fact it could even be Petaluma. I wished I would have written these things down when he was alive. He died Dec. 1977. I am not actually related to the Sarina's, my aunt Sylvia Tamagni married a Sarina. They never had children. If your cousins could shed some light on the Tamagni name, I would love to hear from them. The problem is that I don't know my dad's parent's first name, only his oldest sister Sylvia, she never did come to this country. She stayed in Switzerland to take care of her widowed mother since she was a widow herself. After my brother, Glenn Tamagni, (he never had children) and my cousin Eddie Tamagni, who also never had children, he and his wife Barbara adopted a girl. So for us there were no more children with the name Tamagni. Both my brother and cousin Tamagni's are now deceased. The only Tamagni children left are the women, my Uncle JohnTamagni 2 daughters, in their 80' and my dad's daughter. My dad's name was Adolph Tamagni. I am now 67. My Uncle Joe Tamagni who settled in Philadelphia, Pa., only had one daughter and my dad told me she died young, although she was supposed to have had a daughter. I never met them. I have never met my 2 second cousins that live in Fortuna. My other cousin had one boy and he died years ago when swimming in the Eel river after eating a big meal. He was about17 or 18. The reason I don't know much about my Swiss side of the family is because I am half Danish. My Uncle John's wife, Mary did not like that my dad didn't marry a Swiss. My mother's people came from Denmark. I am sure they would have wished that my mother had married a Danish man also. They just weren't as obvious about it. And since my brother and I came many years later we seemed kind of like outcasts since we were so much younger than all our cousins, not that there was actually that many. This will take you forever to read. LOL Since my Swiss cousins learned to write and speak Italian and my Danish cousins could speak and read Danish, we could do neither. My father did try to teach us a few words in Italian. How about you can you speak Italian? I don't remember my father mentioning the Buletti name. Bye for now. Jean

Hi Rick and Jean,

Hopefully you two still check out these message boards. I believe somehow my husbands family is "distantly" related. He is one of the Calistoga Tamagni's. Looking on the very extended "pedigree" that Ann Enderlin has done, I see a Cesario Tamagni with a date of birth of Aug. 5, 1862. Maybe the same as your grandfather Rick?

Thanks for replying Judy. I believe Cesario Tamagni is related to Rick, and also Robert Ransom, Jr. of Petaluma. Robert's mother's name is Evelyn Tamagni. We just couldn't quite connect that we were truly related. My dad did mention years ago that he had some cousins in Petaluma. My dad eventually moved up here to Humboldt Co., Ca., as his brother's family settled in Fortuna, Ca. What is your husband's first name, and do you live in Calistoga?

I just happened to find my way back to this board on Tamagni/Sarina board. I really don't remember if I answered Judy Tamagni or not. We never did quite establish if I was related to the Tamagni's that live in Petaluma, particularly Eveyn Tamagni, her son is Bob. I can't recall his last name at the moment, but he is related to Cesario Tamagni. Until I find out my grandparent's names in Switzerland, I'll never find the Tamagni's to whom I am related. I never knew there would be soooo many Tamagni's.
