From the Mobile Alabama Newspaper March 19, 1911
“After an illness of several weeks duration, Dr. Silas S. Tam, aged thirty-nine years, passed away at his home. Some time ago, Dr. Tam submitted to an operation for appendicitis and it was believed that the operation was successful. ... Several days ago, Dr. Tam suffered a relapse, and death ensued.
“Dr. Tam was one of the most widely known physicians in Mobile and was an active factor in the medical life of the city. He was a native of Fort Wayne, Ind., and came to Mobile when quite young. He entered the medical college of the University of Alabama and graduated with honors. ... For a number of years he was surgeon for the Mobile, Jackson and Kansas City Railroad Company.”
Not my line, just sharing.
