Fleming Taladay/Taldy b. abt 1830 Fayette Co., OH per Civil War enlistment. He enlisted in Sangamon Co., IL 1861 and served thru the war. He m. 10 Nov 1867 in Dent Co., MO to Malinda J. Booth. They're counted twice in 1870 census - in Washington Co., MO and Iron Co., MO with 1 son James M. b. 1870. By 1880 they're in Phelps Co., MO. James M. is missing now, but we have Ellen A. b. 1873, Marion F. b. 1876 and Josephine b. Mar 1880. Fleming's wife Malinda died after this and by 1889 Fleming married to Eliza Ann Giesler who had a son Andrew Giesler. She was a dau of Noah & Sarah Harrison Giesler of Maries & Phelps Co.
By 1900 there is no sign of either Fleming or Eliza Ann Taldy/Talday, but in 1903 city directories for Springfield, MO we find Ann Taldy, wid of Fleming living with her sister. Anna Talday filed for a pension based on Fleming's Civil War service 15 Sep 1930 . She's found on 1910 thru 1930 census but not on the 1940 census. What happened to Fleming's children? The only one I found was Marion F. who appears on list of prisoners at Huntsville, TX in 1900.
If anyone has where Eliza Ann Taldy/Taladay/Talday died and is buried I would appreciate the information. Her son Andrew Giesler died 1952 at the poor farm in Greene Co., MO
