Hi Sandra,
I saw your message while web searching. I still
don't have anything on Ralph. How is your research
going? Have you heard from any other Taladay
researchers?

I wish I knew more about Goodrich.
Goodrich Talliday was born 1843 (or 1847) in Bradford County Monroe Twp. In 1860 he was living with Wealthy Kingsbury, widow of Byron Kingsbury and her son, W.W. Kingsbury (a provisioner), Adolph, a farmer and Margaret in North Towanda. Goodrich enlisted as a private in Co. B. 80th Regiment 7th Cavalry on 29 Feb 1864. He was a prisoner from 4 Oct 1864 to 25 March 1865 and was discharged by general order on 19 May 1865. He was married to Lucy J. ( ) who was born 1840. They were living in Monroeton South Branch in 1870 where he was a farm laborer. Their children include Carrie M. Talladay (1867). That's all I know about them. They just seem to disappear. Can you fill me in on what happened to the family from this point forward?

Hello, I recieved some of my information about the family from Merle Strum about two years ago. I just found Goodrich's civil war record and that he was a prisoner in Cahaba. I only know that Lucy was listed on her daughter' death certificate as Lucy Jane Beebe, born in Montrose, Pa. I wonder if she was the Lucy , wife of Henry[ Goodrich's brother] who died in 1864 and is buried in Georgia. In 1867 Goodrich and Lucy had Carrie,My ggrandmother. Nothing would surprise me. There is no sign of Lucy and Goodrich again. Carrie is an orphan in Harford Pa. on the 1880 census.. I have your e-mail address from Merle, would you like me to e-mail Carrie's line? I would like to have your information on the Talladays. Merle's information was older. I did find a grave in Wyoming County Pa. for a Goodrich Tallada but wrong Military information on it. The information was correct for his brother William. Interesting is that this person was buried in a place that Carrie's husband's mother had a family member.. I can send you that information also.. What a mystery. Elizabeth -- Bflan1@juno.com
