ART OF ANDRE ILLUSTRATED ON THE NET
For those of you looking to see the music cover art of Andre, there is a company on the internet that is selling the magazines. I found these one day by simply putting in the name Andre di Takacs and up came the company's site with several of the beuatiful illustrated covers shown. I don't have the web site address but try it. For those who contacted me long ago, this is proof that the person existed and that the oral history is probably right. C Takacs

Hi C. Takacs, Are we related? Andre Chevalier DeTakacs, the illustrator of sheet music, was my great grandfather. As far as I know, he had only daughters, Elizabeth Andrea (my randmother), Edythe, Helen, Marjorie, and Teresa. I know Andre Chevalier's parents were Andre DeTakacs and Teresa Chevalier.

Andre Chevalier de Takacs, the illustrator
I'm trying to find out some biographical information on Andre de Takas, the sheet music illustrator. There have been some interesting messages left by Andrea Ellis, but her email address has changed, and I have no way of reaching her. Any help would be appreciated. Re: whether john takach had a sister in n braddock, pa
Hi, My name is Samantha Takacs Brown, I am from the Takacs' of Braddock also, my father Paul Takacs married Debbie Ann Dufek, I was wondering if we where related?? My fathers siblings where Richard, Arlene, Donna, and David. Their mother was Barbara Takacs. I am not sure of who was before her, but I do know she married into Takacs. We where told growing up that our family fled from Europe (Slovakia area) during the first world war due to royalty and gold. We where told that one of the original brothers who came over had a chest full of gold and riches that would have been enough for 3 generations worth. The brother who carried the gold disappeared not long after arriving in the Pittsburgh area. It is said he went East. I was just wondering if our family fit into your line?????
