Desperately seeking Tailbys
Looking for a Miss Tailby (I think her first name starts with a 'N' bit the GRO index is blurred), who married Stanley Victor Bravington i Qtr 2 of 1915, in the Brentford District.
They later split up and Stanley moved around, eventually having my mother with my Grandmother Gladys Dawson (nee Pulleyn) in Scotland in 1931. I believe Stabley and Miss Tailby had two daughters.

Re: Desperately seeking Tailbys
Hi
Further to my previous posting.
Miss Tailby's First name was Maud, and she was 18 at the time of the marriage on 3rd April 1915. Her father is named as William James Tailby, deceased, who was what looks on the certificate like a tramcar driver. Both Stanley and Maude are listed as living at 29 Coningsby Road, Ealing at the time.
The witnesses are Willia Tailby, Rosina Tailby and Charles Henry Tailby. Do these names ring a bell with anyone?

Re: Desperately seeking Tailbys
This may be of little use, but the Blue Bus Service of Willington, between Burton-on-Trent and Derby, was run by Tailby & George. Company went out of business some years back. Ian T

Re: Desperately seeking Tailbys
Hi my name is Dawn and I too have been looking for Tailby's Within my search is Emily Ramscar. Who was Joshua, George, Barbara, Jean and Edith's mother. I do not know the name of their father who would have had the surname Tailby as I only ever knew Emily my grandmother, She was at one time also, either married or living with someone called Sampy, Hence the name Ramscar, they had a daughter who died as a youngster called Amanda. I am not certain if the above Barbara, Jean or Edith were full or half sisters to George and Joshua, Jean had a daughter called Valerie. Edith,s children were (Surname-Morris) Alan, Lorraine & Trevor(Adopted)
Barbara,s children are David and Amanda.(Surname-Lee) Joshua,s children are Dawn & Graham( Surname Tailby)

Re: Desperately seeking Tailbys
Hello, My name is Mrs Joan Elizabeth Marshall (nee Tailby). I am the daughter of the late Percy Jowitt Tailby of the Blue Bus Sevices you mention. I wish to correct you - the company did not go out of business. It was sold to Derby Corporation as a successful and viable business in 1974. I have however, information regarding my own branch of the Tailby family (who originated from Burton Latimer in Northampshire) and would be keen to share this with anybody who is interested.
