As the grandson of Cherrife Ali I would be grateful to obtain any information that is available concerning the subject above. He was born 1830 and passed away in the Rosevelt Hospital 1938 in New York City, N.Y.
Cherrife Ali was 33rd degree Mason, a showman, and at one time was a participant in the Wild West Shows with Buffalo Bill.
Thank you.

I am a distant relative of a Robin Tahar who died in 1961. I am looking for information on his father, Benjamin or Ben (?) Tahar, who married my adopted great-aunt, named Lois.

My youngest uncle, Arthur ben Tahar, lived in New York City, Long Island, New York and the Florida Keys. Arthur passed away last year and I have no other information on him.

My mother was named Gazelle bint Tahar also lived in New York City where I was born. One of my uncles was the wrestling coach for the U.S.A. 1932 Olympic Team and was buried at Point Loma, San Diego, CA.
I am not familiar with any other relatives other than a great aunt, Julia Tahar, who may have been the mother of Arthur ben Tahar.

Thank you for the information. I'm curious now because Robin Tahar was married to a woman named Mattie A. Tahar. After Robin passed away he was buried in Florida. Not sure if there was some other connection but may be worth looking into further. Thanks again.

I am told that my grandfathers name was Benjamin Tahar and worked in a circus company in the 1920's. My mothers birth name was Baudelina Tahar (9/11/1927). She was born out of wedlock to my grandmother Anita Pina Who was also in a circus company. If you have any information or know of anyone who has information. Please email me at masa6355@aol.com

I'm doing research on Mohamed Ben Tahar; a circus performer with "The Ben Tahar Troupe". I was wondering if Hadji Tahar and Mohamed Ben Tahar are related. Any info would be appreciated.

I lived in Vallejo, CA and had a friend named Robin Tahar who lived with foster parents (Last name of Cook)on Kentucky St. Time frame was 1947 to 1951. Robin joined the Navy in 1950 or 1951 and I lost contact with him. His father rented a room in a house near where Robin lived. Robin told me his family had been circus people. I don't remember his father's first name.
