Tafel in Wuerttemberg

Classification: Query
Surnames: Tafel, Auer
I am looking for information on Friederich Tafel and his family of Trossingen, Wuerttemberg Germany ca. late 1600's or early 1700's. Also would like any information on his daughter, Elisabetha Tafel who married Joseph Auer in Muenchingen, Leonberg, Wuertemberg Germany. All I have are their names and one child of Elisabetha and Joseph Auer.

Thank you,

Gretta Marshall

Hello Gretta,

The work I've done on the Tafel family was done for a friend who is a descendant of the Tafel family of the Swedenborgian Church in Germany and America. This family originated in T.Bingen, Wuerttemburg, and I have the line straight back to about 1600. I have two persons with the middle name, Frederich, but no one with that given name first, and I have no children beyond the males who kept the line going down to my friend. I can send you a pedigree chart with that line if you will send me your direct e-mail to rcsnyder2@earthlink.net

Is the line you have the one that includes Maria Rosina Tafel, daughter of Philipp Jakob Tafel? She married Rudolph Deogratius Roth, and they are my 6th great grandparents. I'd love to see your information if it involves this line.

Hello Tina,
I believe those names are familiar to me, but its been a couple of years since I worked on that family (it isn't mine, but a friend's). I'll resurrect that database in the morning and see what I have.

Good morning,

I'm afraid I won't be of much help to you, because I do not have the specific names you mention in my database. When I did that work a few years ago, I was being very line-specific to trace my friend's line, and I did almost no work with corollary family units. I do have that line back to Sebastian Tafel, b. ca. 1480 in Germany, and I'd be happy to share a descendancy chart with you. You can contact me directly at rcsnyder2@earthlink.net.
