Samp & Tadejewski Relationship

I don't know if this helps, but it somethiing I just discovered today.

I think I have figured out the Mother of Catherine Samp. The 1920 census shows Amma Tadejewski as Mother in Law of Catherine Samp. Anna was the widow of Michael Tadejewski of Strasburg, Prussia, now Bodnica Poland. Her husband died in 1916 in Jihnstown, Pa and she later died in Johnstown as well. Mmany of the chaildren of Michael and Anna live in the Johnstown, PA area under the name "Tedjeske". Andrzej Tadajewski of Olsztyn has researched the record in Torun Poland and has some records showing that Michal and Anna (Muchewicz) were married and had children in Poland.

I think this is a reliable connection between the Tedjeske's in Western Pennsylvania and the Tadajewski's in Alpena, MI but there are obviously some missing links.

Jim,
Catherine (Tadajewski) SAMP -- was married to Frank Samp (son of Anthony and Catherine Samp). Cartherine's parents were Ludwig and ANNA Tadajewski. Ludwig immigrated in the early 1870s, and a brother came shortly after. Ludwig and Anna were married in 1877 (in MI) - they had nine surviving children of which five moved initally to the Detroit area. Curiously enough there is a SECOND Tadajewski family that immigrated to Detroit around 1890s which is yet to be connected to the Alpena/Posen Tadajewski line.
