Jim:
One of my ancestors, Antony Tadaj may have been a Tadajewski and could have had some relations in PA. I have nothing of real substance to stand on. All I have is a note from a midwife who delivered on of Antony and Honorata Tadaj's children addressed to an "Anton Tadajewski". However no one in my family ever heard of this spelling until I came across the note. I have been unable to come across any legal documents for Antony, not a death certificate, immigration or naturalization documents. All I have is a picture of his tombstone. I have come across an Antony Tadajewski whose age at the time he entered the country roughly equals the year my Antony was born. I kust learned that the destination on the ships manifest listed Shenandoah, PA as his ultimate destination, which does me no good since my Anthony died in Cleveland. At the moment, I have not tried to figure out where in PA Shanandoah is located.
But I do have a PA connection. Antony and Honoratta both died in the 1920's and my grandfather (Alexander) was sent to live with relatives in either PA or WV. I have yet to find any evidence of any natural family members in either state, however, Alexander's future wife, Elizabeth, was living in Sidney Pennsylvania during the 20's and 30's before moving to Cleveland, Ohio. I was never able to determine where they first met. Anyway, Indiana County, PA a neighboring county to Cambria County.
To make a long story short (too late), if you feel I might have any information that may help you, feel free to ask. My e-mail is
