Hi everyone. Now that I know that Edward Green Tacey my g-g-grandfather was born in Harpers Ferry, Va. that his father was George William Tacey from England his mother was Eliza Hughes, I am at a stand still. And that Rebecca Tacey was Edward's sister also.

Would any one have any suggestions on tracing Tacey over in England? I have left a message on a message board in England haven't had any luck yet. Any suggestions on pursuing my family tree would be greatly appreciated.

Hi my name is Dawn June {Tacey}.
I read your message on finding Tacey in England. My family came here from Canada they changed there name from Tessier to Tacey when they came to the United States. I dont know if thats what happened in your case. Maybe looking under Tessier you'll find something.

Sincerly
Dawn June

Hi Dawn, Which Tacey are you descended from. I am searching for a Frank Tacey (Francois Tessier) who lived in New York and his son and family moved on to Michigan.

I have a possible Tacey connection in England. I am seeking information about the spouse of Ann Tacy of Leicestershire, England. I have unconfirmed information that she married Stephen Broadhurst, son of William Broadhurst, on 9 August 1824 at All Saints, Loughboro, LEI, ENG. If you know where in England ["County" , equivalent to US states, or narrower region] your Tacey connection originates, you can post on that County's Board at Rootsweb, and you can subscribe to that County's mail list. Sending out a periodical email to that mailing list can reap rich rewards as there are always people willing to help.

Hello,
My name is Ivan Tacey and I'm from Devon in the south west of England although I'm currently living in France. About 15 years ago I traced my family tree back in England a fairly long way (to about 1650 I think). Unfortunately I have now lost this information. My grandfather Charles Tacey also traced back our family tree a long way so I'm sure I could contact someone in my family to get a copy if it could help anyone.
I have been told that the Tacey family moved from England to France with the Huguenots (French Protestants).
Sorry my information is a bit vague but I'm sure I can get hold of more details if anyone is interested.
Regards,
Ivan Tacey

I have traced my Tacey ancestors back to Philip Tacey 1740-1836 of the Marshchapel area of Lincolnshire, England. He was married to Mary Green 1748-1825 and they had 5 daughters and sons Christopher,Edward,Green, and William. Green appears as a forename in several generations of the Tacey descents of Mary Green.

Have just seen this post. I've recently been tracing the Tacey family in the Grimsby area and have also got to Philip and Mary Tacey. Their son Green Tacey married a Margaret Williamson and then used Williamson as a forename for their son.

If you have any info that might help me I would love to hear.

Thanks, yes Green born in 1778 is my ancestor. I didn't have his actual dob. I also hadn't got that he had a brother called William. I only started doing the family tree a few months ago, obviously you've been doing it alot longer.
