Yes, I am one of several great great children of Mary and Michael. Your address was not include so e-mail me at kquattrin@earthlink.net. I have a lot of info, a fairly complete descendent tree, Mary's sisters and parents names, and photos of Shanballysallagh, Co Clare, where Mary was born. Another cousin has a photo of Michael and Mary that I am working on getting.

Randall, I am the , great-great-niece of William Francis Taaffe. My parents still live on a piece of ranch that once belonged to him. I have found several biographical sketches about "Billy." He was the city treasurer in San Jose for a period of time. He died from a crippling disease called Myelitis ( I don't know if I spelled that correctly). Please contact me. I would love to exchange information.

My gt gt grandfather was Martin Taaaffe from Erinagh and Drumcavin near Ruan. He died in 1870 in an accident. He was a large farmer locally and a guardian of Corofin workhouse. His sons all emigrated, Joseph to New York. His daughter Helena married Hehir and got the farm. My gt grandmother was Minnie Taaffe. Martin is not a terribly common name in Clare I wonder if the Martin mentioned here is related.

There are still Taaffes in Tubber I dont know if they are related or not, they seem to have come from Carlingford with the earl of Carlingford who rented land in Corofin from the Inchiquins

Hi Margaret,
My great granduncle, John Hehir, married Helena Taaffe, and hence my interest in the subject. Presently, I am seeking to establish what became of her siblings.

In pursuit of same I came across the following extract and it may be of some interest:

Clare Journal 19 November 1877
On the 13 inst. at Dysart Church by the Rev. R. Fitzgerald PP and assisted by Revs Father O'Kelly and Father White O.S.F. David Gallery Esq. second son of the late Edward Gallery Esq. , Ballybeg, Co. Clare, to Mary A. Taaffe eldest daughter of the late Martin Taaffe Esq. Errinagh and Drumcavin

Kind regards,

John

Hi Karen,
I read your post on a message board on Ancestry.com and I would be interested in what you have on the Murphy's.
The Martin Murphy and his family came from County Wexford, Ireland, I believe.

Hoping to hear from you.
