I have a copy of a story sent to me with thoughts it might be part of my English family, but I cannot fit it in as yet. I noticed other queries that may link to this article and decided to post this message on the message board in hopes it might help anyone researching in these line.

The article is written by Mary Taaffe Board about "George Sloan Taaffe and Sarah Jane English" and it came out of "The Sevier County History Book" for anyone interested you might find it in the DeQueen AR Library in the genealogy room.

If you are interested in a copy of my copy I can scan it into a document and send it through an an email attachment. Email me at marilynde@home.com

Yes, I would like a copy of your copy of that entry. I'm very interested in links to our British connections. If this is a possible link, I'd like to see it and share it with my uncle, who has done so much research on our family line. Thank you!

I am searching for any information about Patrick Taaffe, born in Ireland March 1844, immigrated to the US in 1871. I do not know where he was from in Ireland.

Dear Eillen,
I see you found some Patrick Taaffe information in a 1901 census. Where can I get access to that census and other census information? I am looking for my ggrandfather, Patrick, born March 1844 somewhere in Ireland. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1871.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Pat

Hi kevin
My g/grandfather was Francis Taaffe born in County Louth Ireland, married 28/1/1875 in melbourne and died in 1909 in South Melbourne. His father was James Taaffe.
Francis had 11 children one my grandfather John Ernest was born 1893. My father was also John Ernest born 1917 and he had a brother Francis Richard Cyril Taaff.
Not sure if these Taaffe's are related to your Taaffe's
Regards
maureen

I found some information that might possibly be the third "mysterious" Taaffe brother that came with Peter and James. In 1756, there was a Michael Taffe/Taaffe who is listed in the Pennsylvania Archives book, Second Series, Volume Two, published in 1876. This Michael Taffe/Taaffe worked as a scout/guide for Col. Burd at Fort Augusta. Michael Taffe is listed in Col. Burd's journal.

This reply is a little late but the Taaffe family in Tubber will presumably be able to fill you in on the genealogy of the family. George Taaffe is very knowledgeable on local history.
