I am just getting started on my family tree. I have just a little info. My grandfather was Frank Peter Szablewski born in Poland 11/10/1886 and came to America in 1910. He lived in Erie, Pa. I am looking for relatives of his siblings, cousins, etc. My email is emkdmk@penn.com

I can't help you directly, but my cousin Stanley Szablewski's wife is a professional geneologist (is that the right word?) and she would know at least if your grandfather was from the same family in Poland - I take it my last name is much more common there than here! I'm sure she wouldn't mind an inquiry. If you email me directly I will send you her address.

I just found this website and I cannot believe there are more "Szablewski's" I was born in the east coast and that is where my Szablewski family is located.

Surnames: Szablewski, Czablewski, Patzer

Hi everyone,

I am trying to trace the families of Jakob Czablewski or Szablewski born 1838 in Starogard Gdanski, Poland

He was married to Marianne Patzer (also born 1838)

Their children were

Frank (b. 1864)
Joseph (b. 1866)
Jacob (b.1868)
Bernard (b. 1872)
Martha (b.1875)

In 1875 they sailed from Danzig en route to Hamburg and boarded the SS Lammershagen for New Zealand, arriving April 1st 1875. Martha was born on the voyage

is anyone able to help with information on the Szablewski or Patzer families?
