Correction: I have found no evidence that my ggfather was an in Indian, Creek or Cherokee. To be honest, I do not know much more than I did about him, as I did a year ago. I did get to visit his gravesite and found out at one time he had owned a grocery store somewhere per his obit. I know where and how he passed away and that he was a miner at one time. Getting in touch with family members has been tuff. After reaching one member, communicating via email, I lost touch with him. Unfortunately, he was not really familar with the family history and did not know my Grandmother had even been married to James Hardee Syphurs. I was able to find some census info back to William Syphurs and know his father's name with Clayborn Syphurs which I believe was from Scotland. And that's about it.
