Catherina Swadkins, my great grandmother was the sister of Helen Griffin (nee Swadkins). Catherina married Edmond Cooke in Birmingham in 1883. Edmund Cooke was an Irishman from Co. Limerick . They had 10 children seven of whom survived childhood. These were Agnes, my grandmother, Maurice, Catherina (Kitty) , Walter, Alfred, Lillian and Gladys. Agnes was the only one to remain in Ireland, the others all returned to the Birmingham area with their mother after their fathers death in 1916. Agnes married Dominic Carr in 1909 They had four children two boys and two girls. Catherina (Rina) their third child and younger daughter was my mother.
