Hi! I just discovered my great grandmother's maiden name was SWACZY! She was Antoinette or Annette Swaczy, and she was born in Italy. She was very blonde and blue eyed, and came from a part of Italy called Tribia? Tribes? I can't make out the handwriting. BUT we are pretty sure she was Jewish( she lit candles on Friday, only bought kosher meat, etc. etc.)

Surnames: Swaczy
Hello Daniel, My Grandfather was a Swaczy who used the name Swatkey which may be phonetically the same in English as the original Polish pronunciation of Swaczy. My Grandfather came from the Austria (Bucaczwoce in 1906 and went to Western Pennsylvania to work in the coal mines. His wife and 4 children followed in 1906. I am amazed that there are so few Swaczy's in the US or anywhere for that matter. Barbara
