Re: Swaby Family in Mandeville, Jamaica
Hi there,
My name's Nicky Swaby. There's a good chance we may be related...My father is Neville Swaby, whose siblings are the ones you mentioned. I spent time with my uncle Roy and his family in Mandeville when I was a young girl. I met my grandmother Elsa once before she passed away. My mother knew my aunt Navlyn and another brother (who was a police inspector) who also passed away.
Hope you see this message...

Re: Swaby Family in Mandeville, Jamaica
Stories from my grandmother, she spelt the name Peart Anne and Frederick Peart had two daughters, 1.Anne married David Cooper (17.06.1863 in Mandeville)and they had 3 children, Anne Elizabeth (married Walter Bryant), Katherine (married Benson) and Lindsay, 2. Emily married John Risden and they had 3 children, Margaret (married Edgar Reed), Millicent and Jack
Anne M E Swaby married 3 times, after Frederick Peart (died Newark 30.06.1848, aged 35, plaque in Mandeville church) she married Ward and had 3 children and than Ward and had 5 more. What stamina!Died approx 1868
Frederick Peart also had a son Arthur
When I saw a child I saw a minature of James Swaby and granny always referred to him as Colonel Swaby
I have a description of Anne's wedding to David Cooper written by her mother, who signed herself M A E Ward. In the letter she refers to other family members and neighbours. She used the address Newark, May Hill and refers to visiting Montpelier
good luck

Re: Swaby Family in Mandeville, Jamaica
Newer email for Hugh Wood researching descendents of Horatio Swaby and Hector McLean Wood..... Bubee61@hotmail.com -- Any information is appreciated about Spur Tree where my father grew up near Mandeville. His parents were Edward Charles Wood ( sometimes with an "e "). And Agnes Agatha Swaby Wood ( Maybe Susan Agnes Agatha Swaby). Father Horatio Swaby and mother not sure. Perhaps Ann Kingston.
