Surnames: SVEGE, SWEGER, OMUNDSON
I'm not related to this family, but work at the Wisconsin Historical Society and am trying to locate descendants or relatives of an August Theodor SVEGE. (In the U.S. the name was usually spelled SWEGER.) He was born circa 1850 in Norway (probably in or near Flekkefjord in Vest Agder), emigrated from Stavanger to Quebec in May 1869, settled in Vernon County, Wisconsin, and died between the 1880 & 1900 Censuses.

His wife was Mary Ann (b 1853) and their children were Stanley A. (b 1876), Alfred M. (b 1879), and Theodore E. (b 1882), all born in Wisconsin.

We have a photograph of August with his friend and co-immigrant Øiuf Ommundsen (known in the U.S. as Joseph Omundson), apparently taken about the time of their emigration.

Please feel free to pass this information on to anyone who might benefit from it. Contact me for more info about August T. SVEGE/SWEGER or to obtain a copy of the photo.
