Surnames: Svedberg, Carlson
Hi Pricilla,
I am trying to find out about my grandmother. Her name was Beda Vilhelmina Karlsson or Carlson. Her family name was Svedberg. Her date of birth was 3rd may 1876 she died in Cardiff Wales UK on 14th Oct 1950 aged 74. She had a twin sister named Anna Marie who stayed in Gothenburg. It is possible that there is a connection on the Svedberg side, my grandmother said she came from Gothenburg and my eldest brother said the place began with Fur or Fir, but he was only about 10 when she died so he is not sure of the full name. I never knew her as I was only 2 but she must have been a strong woman as she brought up her 4 children on her own when my grandfather died. My grandfather was John Carlson who was born about 1880 in Gothenburg. They both came to Wales about 1900, both work in the Merchant Navy. He aws a donkeyman and she a stewardess. John was killed in late 1917 or early 1918 when his ship was torpedoed.
