I am trying to find some information on my great great grandfather, Benjamin Sutton. He was born September 28, 1795 and died March 28, 1864. I think he lived in the Bucklesberry section of Lenoir county, NC. Benjamin married Mary Jane Hines and had two sons, Benjamin and William. William was my great grandfather.

Benjamin's second wife was a Miss Herring and his third wife was her sister, Elizabeth Herring. If you have any related information, Please e-mail me. Thanks

Roger, Just read your message and would like to share information with you. I , Barbara Sutton, lived in Bucklesbury,Lenior Co. until eighteen. My family is a descendent of Benjamin Sutton(who wife was Pincy Young.) I have all of the info of Benjamin family. He went to Lenior Co. between the years of 1750-1780. I also have info that his father William went to Mass. in 1666. Benjamin and John are two of the children, moved to Lenior County. I have the names of Williams children. Contact me.

Were your Suttons white or black? I am looking for a William Sutton born in N.C. on Dec. 31, 1869 and died on July 30, 1944. His father was white and his mother was black. His mother's name was Henrietta Armstead. William married a woman name Ella Jane Overton Clover. Any info?
