Karyn. These are not my relatives but the following is a copy of something that was passed to me through a friend: "W.D. Suggs is William David Suggs b. Dec 24, 1877, MS d. Aug 19, 1948. He was the 8th child of Joel Green Suggs, b. Jul 23, 1828, who married Aug 23, 1858 in MS., Orry Elizabeth Bowlin, b. Dec 3, 1838 d. Jul 23, 1907, Itawamba Co., MS, buried Hopewell Cemetery. Joel died Oct 4, 1897, Itawamba Co., MS, buried at Hopewell Cemetery. W.D. was a well known potter. Many churns and jugs are now collectables with W.D. Suggs, Smithville Miss in circle blue letters. This information was passed on to me by a grandson of Willis Monroe Suggs, a brother to W.D.. There is a little confusion it seems over the first name of Joel Green Suggs wife. My grandfather Thomas Henry Suggs b. 1839 was a child of Mary Suggs b. 1805, and we are not sure who the father is. She is on the 1850 census with the children. He is a brother to Joel Green Suggs." Karyn there is also a Jesse T Suggs on the 1846 Sabine Co., TX. Poll Tax List.
