JACKSONVILLE, FL: Ann Lydia Hiser entered eternal rest on February 7, 2014 in Jacksonville, Florida.
She was looking forward to turning 90 on April 21st.

Ann was born the daughter of Peter and Sophia Such.

She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Ronald Hiser.

She had lived most of her life on a small farm in Mansfield Ohio, (Richland County) with more recent escapades to Lancaster, Pennsylvania and then to Jacksonville.

She is survived by a daughter, Robin Hiser who made her home with Ron and Ann for her entire life.
She is also survived by daughter, Roanne Funk, (Brian) and children Chadd and Emily; daughter- in-law, Ellen Hiser, and her children Zachary and fiancé Jessica McGrady and Hannah; daughter, Sally Hazelip, (Chris), and children Christianna, Carly, Christopher and Collin and daughter, Jill Morrow, (Billy) and children Will, Amelia, Caroline and Halle.

A son, Bill and daughter Laura Lee preceded her in death.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews and was the last surviving member of her generation in our family.

There are also many others who would call Ann their second mom, and who grieve her loss with all of us.

Ann's life was lived in her kitchen baking pies and creating delicious home cooked meals. Many hours were spent around her tables, sharing good food and life stories.
She was a full time mom and loved her years working in her vegetable gardens.

At the age of 40, with five children in her home she went back to school to get a LPN degree to fulfill a dream of hers. She graduated top of her class even as she fought breast cancer during that period.
She wrote beautifully and many people received lovely notes or letters from her encouraging them to fulfill their calling and live their lives well.
One of her favorite achievements was having a family cookbook published and she loved to share her recipes and food with others.
She had a warm heart, and willing hands and a desire to care for others.
Ann embraced people with disabilities and those who suffered loss with a great passion.
She and Ron were instrumental in helping create Richland Newhope Center, a school for individuals with intellectual disabilities in Mansfield Ohio in the early1960's.

In the past year and a half she lived at Emeritus at Mandarin with her daughter Robin. In her short time here she made many new friends and enjoyed a rich relationship with many in the Jacksonville community.

The family thanks the Community Hospice, Hadlow Center for the wonderful care and great love which was poured over all of us while Annie lived her final week there.

A memorial service will be held in Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday Feb 15th at Christian Family Chapel at 11am.
There will be a memorial service in Lancaster, Pa and Mansfield, Ohio, at later times, at the family's convenience. Condolences may be sent to Jacksonville.com.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to
