My fellow Stutes descendants, I am on a search for information. I have been puzzled with information acquired from Father Hebert's books and have not been able to gather anything else to remove a block from my brick wall.

I am on a quest to find information on our founding father, the father of Pierre Stout/Stutes, who married Amelia Hoffpauir. Information acquired states that he was named several different ways or these were more than one man. Some members from different family groups state that it was two brother and other family groups state that it was three brothers that came to Louisiana. I know for sure that two brothers were Pierre and Michel, sons of ? There are questions regarding who the parents really were. From my gatherings a father was named Michel and then a father named Peter. But some entries name the same wife, and other entries name a different wife. I will post what I have and if any light can be shed on this matter please respond.

Stout, Pierre dit Pitre (Peter) - inhabitants of La Que Tortue in this parish, originally from Pennsylvania or from Natches, (son of Michel and Elizabeth Allemans - from Europe) buried 7 Oct. 1815 at age 48 years in this parish cemetary. He died following an illness. He was married to Amelia Offpower (Opelousas Church Vol.1, Pg. 147)
