My recent find is of John Strain b. OH ( Jackson Co. ) in 1839 and married to Jane ? He is found on the 1860 census in Washington Co., PA living with the BIGGER family and next door to him is his sister, Eliza Jane STRAIN MC CLURG.

He then marries a Jane ? and is in the 1870 census in Washington Co. with children named William, Nancy J., Mary F. and John STRAIN. Other children later were Luella Mae, Samuel R., Peter M. and Bell F. STRAIN.

John died in 1913 and is buried in Chestnut Ridge Cemetery in Hanover Twp., Washington Co., PA.
