I am trying to clear up some confusion over Peter & Jacob Straight of the Monogalia Co., VA/WV area. I don't know much about this line and was recently given a wonderful family history of what was supposed to be my ancestors through my mother's side of the family. In it, one of my great-grandfathers was the Jacob Straight who was killed in an Indian Massacre. However, I've just stumbled across some different information that seems to say that this may not be the case. Here is the information of this line as it was originally given to me:

William M. Straight m. Jane Cain /
William Straight/Strait m. Rosa Ann Welch /

The conflict seems to arise with the third Jacob Straight who married Arabella Wilson. According to the second bit of information I received, that Jacob was NOT the son of the Jacob Straight who married Rebecca Brown.

The William Straight/Strait who married Rosa Ann Welch was my great-great grandfather and I'm fairly sure the line is correct up through the Peter Straight who married Elizabeth Bayles (Ice). After that, I'm not sure at all. Can anyone help?!
