My set of Stoudemire's orginated from VA. They came from Africa and were slaves on a plantation run by Stoudemire (the spelling may have been different). My g-g-g-grandfather's parents were from VA. I am not sure when his parents came to AL, but he was born in AL (1844). I am not sure if his parents were freed or traded to an owner in AL. I will try to locate Stoudemire in VA from the info you gave me. I tried to locate Stoudemire's in VA during the 1800s, but I was not sure of the county. I am not sure if there is a connection between the my Stoudemire line in AL and the line in SC.
