I have been working the decendents of Samuel G Story and Samuel Story (1802) off and on for many years. Two Questions: What proof is there that Samuel Story 1775-1838 middle name was "Gaines" or has some researcher taken the liberty of making that assumption? The "Samuel Story Family Tree" shows Samuel Gaines Story (1897 -1949) as the "IV", but my records show him a Jr. He signed his name as Jr. in WWI Draft registration records.
1910 Burke Co - Sam G Story 38, Ida 33, Sam G jr 13, Anita 10, Ada 7, Robert B 9/12
1917 WW1 Draft Card shows Samuel Gaines Story, Jr born Jan 23, 1897 in Hephzibah, Ga, living in Waynesboro, Ga, student at Univ of Ga, blue eyes and light brown hair; father's name Samuel G Story, Sr., living in Waynesboro, birthplace, Hephzbah, Ga. He signed his name as Jr.
Is this Samuel G Story below all the same person and is he consider the "Jr" on Story Family website. I don't believe that Samuel Story 1775-1838 middle name was Gaines.
