Mrs. A. Stoop:
Rocky Ford friends were grieved to learn of the death of Mrs. Alvira Stoop, which occurred at the La Junta hospital last Sunday morning, after a months' illness with typhoid pneumonia. Mrs. Stoop was 55 years old at the time of her demise and was well known and highly esteemed in this city, where she had resided for many years until her removal to Swink, where she engaged in the mercantile business about four years ago. To mourn her demise she leaves two children, F.D. Stoop and Mrs. Riley, who were present at her death.
The remains were brought to this city and funeral services were conducted in the First Christian church by Rev. Long of Swink on Monday afternoon. Interment was in Valley View cemetery, beside the remains of her husband, who had proceeded her to the grave about two years.
