Micajah Stone was a prominant citizen of Fredricktown and Madison Co. Mo. The brick house which he built a block and a half from the court house is still standing. Though altered some, one of the present county officers lives in the house. They have added to it and take great pride in its vintage. Micajah himself was twice co. sheriff of Madison Co. It seems that Micajah later left Madison Co. and moved to Arkansas?
note: this book is a self-typed type book written by a very distant cousin of my Grandmothers, a Mr. A.T. Wilkinson. I do not have any sources. This book is mainly a Wilkinson Family history begining in North Carolina to Mo. I would like to hear from anyone who has more info on this family. If anyone has a photo of the house, I would really love to see it. I hope this info is helpful to someone out there.
