She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry, on September 29, 2005; a sister, Marcella Long; and a nephew, Joe N. Woodruff.
Leona is survived by two daughters, Kandy Baudo, and her husband, Jeff, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Lelani Gregory, and her husband, Mark, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Jerry Nutter, Jr., and his wife, Becky, of Richland, Missouri; six grandchildren, Rachael, Mikayla, Adam, Sophia, Amanda, and Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Keyleigh and Jacob; two brothers, Roger Stewart, and Tom Stewart, both of Lebanon, Missouri; four sisters, Ginger Gibbs, Beverly Sein, Patricia Burns, and Melissa Schaubroeck, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in Iowa, and then moved with her family to Lebanon, Missouri, as a teenager. After graduating from Lebanon High School, she attended Springfield College, and earned a degree as a medical office assistant. Once she and Jerry were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area, and lovingly raised their children. Leona was a devoted homemaker to her husband, and family, and also worked as a seamstress and in the payroll department for the H. D. Lee Company for thirty-seven years.
Leona enjoyed playing in a bluegrass gospel group for several years, and also liked reading romance novels. She had a collection of special bears and enjoyed singing and dancing. She had a love for animals and particularly enjoyed her three dogs, “Oliver”, “MayBell”, and “Peanut”. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Leona was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
