Hi,

I'm looking for any information on my gg grandparents Mathias Steir/Steer/Stuer and Charlotte Dulberg of germany. Mathias is listed in 1850 US Census as born in Hannover, Germany and living in Texas with wife Charlotte Dulberg (also of Germany). Mathias is my gg grandfather. The 1850 census shows a 32 yr old Mathias and 24 yr old Charlotte. My guess is they immigrated to the US from Germany between 1818 and 1850. They were married in June 1850 in Harris County Texas. They apparently had a son named Louis or Ludwig (my great grandfather). Eventually Mathias remarried (I've not found out who she is yet) and Louis (not liking his step mother) ran away from home around the age of 13 and settled in Louisiana. I am assuming that Louis' mom is Charlotte because Louis is reported born in Texas in 1851. I have come up empty attempting to trace the ancestors of Mathias and Charlotte. Can anyone help?
