Mary: Have we corresponded before? I have an Anson (pretty close to Anthony) and Maria Steck arriving in America in 1830 aboard the ship "Pearl". My gg grandparents were on this same ship, George and Magdalena Kuntz. I believe most of the passengers on this ship came from Buhl (umlaut "u"), Bas Rhin, Alsace, France.
I also have a George Schneider marrying an Anna Maria Steck in 1833 in Buhl. I believe this Schneider family came to America in the 1850's and settled in Allen Co., IN. My Kuntz ancestors eventually settled in Allen Co., as well. They had lived in Northumberland Co., PA, a neighboring county to Schuykill Co., where I believe Anthony and Maria Steck settled.
