I think we may be from the same line. I am from Ashe County, NC which borders VA and TN. What was the name of your ggg grandfather? I have in Ashe County an Abram (Abraham)Starling (c.1818-1890) who married Sarah (Sally) E. Thompson whose children were "Noah" Preston,Thomas E., Nancy Amanda, Mary Polly, Wilburn Wilson (Will),and Wiley Warton. There is also a younger Preston who lived next door who must also be related, possibly another son of Abram and Sally. Preston had a son John W. Starling who was born Oct. 1889. Abram is my gg grandfather.
