I have Starlings from Ashe County, NC and am wondering if they are the same family as yours. Abraham (Abram)Starling who was married to Sarah (Sally) Thompson. The children I have are:
Noah Preston, b.12/10/1846
Nancy Amanda, b. circa 1847-48
Thomas E., b. c.1847-48
Mary Polly, b. 1852
William or Wilburn Wilson, b. 8/15/1856
Preston, b. c.1858
Wiley Warton b. 2/22/1861

They were listed as Sturling in 1850 Census.

I don't know who Abraham's father was but I believe his mother was named Nancy. My family line is from William/Wilburn Wilson Starling.
