Irma L. Stanton, 97, of Monroeville, formerly of Trafford, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008, in UPMC McKeesport. Irma was born March 18, 1911, in Monroeville, the daughter of the late Daniel Carson and Elizabeth Spangler.
Irma was a member of the former United Presbyterian Church in Trafford and its Women's Association. In addition to her parents, Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Elwood J. Stanton, in 1975.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Stephenson, of Monroeville,
and Elwood J. Stanton Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Chicago, Ill.; and three grandchildren, Joseph Lee Stanton,
Jason A. Stephenson and Cody Stanton.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the JOHN M. DOBRINICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 702 Seventh St. (Route 130), Trafford, 412-372-3111. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. R. Dennis Macaleer officiating. Interment will follow in Restland-Lincoln Memorial Park, Monroeville.
