I am Kayellen Stakes, Shipman. I find it odd that you are essentially researching the same names as I am and we have yet to cross. paths ;
My grandfather was Richard Maurice (Morris) Stakes son of Richard Stakes, the grandson Henry Stakes.........there are only a couple oddities to our searches.... my grandfather was Richard Maurice Stakes, his father was Richard Parker Stakes and his father Henry Parker Stakes and his father was Johannes Stakes Its been said that our Stakes family line comes from England then I believe Virginia, but the earliest I have documented is for the marriage of Johannes Stakes and Nancy Ann Parker on 27/Feb/1799 Accomack Co., Georgia.

Do you think since there were so few "Stakes" that our lines connect?
