I think I can help you. I know some Stagers in my family were put into a children's home and I have a Violet Stager in my line which makes me think there is a connection. Mine are from Northern Ohio and I have none that I know of born in Michigan but sometimes adoption records are not correct and I remember my grandmother (Bertha Stager who died in 2004) talking about visiting Michigan quite a bit as a child and she did have some family there. She herself spent time in a children's home before her mother got some of them back when she remarried (there were 16 children and the Violet I am posting below was my grandmother's sister). Here is what I have:
Violet Stager was born in 1926 to Daniel Stager and Della Demoss (my great grandparents) I only have names for 12 of the 16 children. I believe for some reason, some children either remained at the Childrens Home or grew up before their mother returned for them. Please let me know if you believe this is your line or not. I have alot of interesting information on the Stager and DeMoss lines.
