Judith, I am related to you, I dont think the william in the original posting is any of my williams. There are many William Stagers. Here is my line

My grandma- Bertha Irene Stager
her father- Daniel Stager b. 1866
his father- William Johanthan Stager b. 1834- he was a union soldier and was extremely wounded and held in Andersonville Prison for some time- I have info on him ( his gun and uniform are in the Greenville Museum here in Ohio)
his father- William Stager b. 1814
his father- Fredrich Stager b. 1760
his father- Jerack Stager b. 1723
This line is from Germany, Fredrich was the first born in America in Laban County, PA. I do have alot of info on this line.
